Information |
Q: How much is membership?
- The GolfExtra Rewards Card is absolutely free!
-
The optional GolfExtra SCGA Handicap Index Club is only $59.95 per year.
|
Q: What's included in the GolfExtra Rewards Card?
- The free GolfExtra Rewards Card provides members with greens fee discounts at golf courses throughout Southern California and the Las Vegas area. Typical discounts are up to or over 40% and many courses offer additional discounts the more you play that course.
|
Q: How do I know where I can save?
- An up to date list is available online as well as through our toll free call center. In addition you will receive email update of new courses and opportunities.
|
Q: How does it work?
- You simply call our reservation center or go online and book your preferred tee time. Your reservation is automatically entered onto the golf course's tee sheet including any available special greens fee rate.
- As a member, you are entitled to have us book all your tee times at participating courses even when you are playing a non promotional round. In fact, we encourage you to "put us to work". The more tee times you book through GolfExtra, the more discounts we will be able to negotiate for you.
|
Q: Do I have to book my tee time through GolfExtra to get the discount?
- Yes, you must call or go online to book your tee time to receive the best available greens fees. If you call the course directly you will be charged the normal greens fee even if you have a GolfExtra Rewards Card.
|
Q. Is there a charge for booking tee times?
- There is no charge for booking tee times or for your Rewards Card membership. If you are booking a promotional round (discounted greens fee), the courses require you to pay a 10% non refundable deposit per player booked at the time you make the reservation to discourage no shows. This deposit is collected via credit card when you make your reservation and the amount is subtracted from your greens fees which you will pay at the course.
|
Q: May my friends book tee times through GolfExtra if they don't have a Rewards Card?
- Absolutely, membership is free and we will be happy to register your friends through the call center at 800-598-GOLF (4653) or they can register online.

| Handicap
Questions (general) |
|
Q:
What are my handicap options offered by GolfExtra?
- GolfExtra maintains two separate handicap
clubs. An SCGA club (member of Southern California
Golf Association) and it's own USGA sanctioned
club, GolfExtra Online (not affiliated
to an association, other than being recoginized
by the USGA). A handicap is included with all
levels of membership with GolfExtra.
|
|
Q:
What is the difference between them?
- Both handicap clubs are sanctioned by the USGA and
both use the same patented USGA Handicap System
to calculate the handicap index. (Slope, rating,
equitable stroke control, etc). So the index would
be the same no matter which club you belong too.
One major difference is where you post your scores.
With the SCGA club, you can post your
scores at the golf course on the supplied computer
OR on their website.
- With the GolfExtra Online
club, you post your scores on our website ONLY.
There is NO computer onsite at the golf course to post your scores.
|
|
Q:
Any other differences?
Yes, the SCGA handicap (with our Gold level
membership) comes with:
-
Directory of Southern California Golf Courses
(very handy)
- Subscription
To Fore magazine
- Discount
on green fees at the SCGA golf course in Murrieta
- Discount
on pro-shop merchandise at the SCGA golf course
- Discounts
on green fees at Poppy Hills, Poppy Ridge and
Tukwila
|
|
